Emily and Billy Wedding: Royal Venetian Mansion
What a beautiful day it was… packed with rain, snow, and all other weather 🙂 We started the day at a charming family farm location where Billy and Emily got ready. We also did the first look and photos there. Afterwards, we headed to Royal Venerian Mansion (where I also got married in 2007!) for the colourful ceremony and reception! We had a great day working with Billy and Emily and their entire team of vendors.
OK, I’m not great with words (why I’m a photographer and not a writer) so enjoy the teasers below!
Billy and Emily’s Life and Love Story
1. Tell us how you first met. Where, When, How? Give us the juicy details.
Billy and Emily met using Tinder. Emily had swiped right on him in a bar in Parkdale, which led to a few years of commuting between Markham (where she was living) and the west end of Toronto (where he was living) ! Lesson learned, swipe right in the geographical area you want to fall in love. Just kidding! They didn’t and it worked for them. Just make sure you have a car. 😉
2. When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?
Billy and Emily both agree, they just fell in love as the days went on. They found more and more to like and then eventually love about one another.
3. Tell us about your proposal. (Did you see it coming? How long was it in the planning? How did you feel when it happened? (excited, nervous, etc.).
Emily felt excited and happy! She definitely knew it was coming because she designed the ring and she wanted to be engaged before a small surgery she needed to get done. Billy felt excited, happy and he had to hold back tears while proposing (Emily just let hers flow) because he had been planning it for years and always knew he wanted to do it at the lakefront where they had their first date.
4. What is your favourite memory together aside from the proposal? Why?
Billy and Emily like to travel together. Recently, they travelled to Philadelphia to attend a gala to raise money for Metastatic Breast Cancer, the disease Emily lives with. Another favourite memory is bringing their first puppy, Coltrane, home together. They felt like a real little family
5. Tell us the one thing you most love about each other.
It’s hard to name just one thing, but if Emily had to choose it would be Billy’s nurturing nature. Billy says that he loves when Emily improvises songs out of the blue, because he always knows she is happy in those moments.
6. What do you think is unique about you as a couple?
They balance each other out nicely. Emily is more extroverted where Billy is more introverted.
7. Besides being married, what’s the one other thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?
They are looking forward to a lot of their family and friends being in the same room and celebrating together.
8. What is your favourite wedding trend right now?
Billy says Emily can answer this because he is not up on the trends. She loves that colour is coming back in weddings. She always wanted to have a colourful wedding and they seem to be on trend again.
9. What inspired your decor theme?
Emily’s parents had a very pretty, 80’s pastel, coloured wedding. She wanted her wedding to be inspired by theirs, but include her own style and ideas. Colour was never in question. She always knew she wanted colour.
10. What’s one thing you wish you would have known earlier in regards to planning your wedding?
This might sound too good to be true, but they feel everything went so smoothly with their wedding planning!
